Funeral in Berlin (1966)

This is an old movie featuring Mr. Michael Caine on some spy sort of exploits into the proper German arena it would appear. Its inexplicable to witness the zeal with which GDR infantrymen use machine gun fire to try to cut down a man fleeing to the West of Germany for crissakes! wow! Some explaining has still yet to be done of this phenomenon  I'm sure.
